Integrated Lintel Roller Shutters Projects

Integrated lintel roller shutters are a great option to consider when securing a building. By removing the need for an unsightly headbox, integrated security shutters sit within the load-bearing lintel of an aperture.

This type of security shutter is best suited for projects during the structural development stage of a build. At Charter Global, we’ve installed our Integr8 range of integrated lintel roller shutters to a range of different building types.

Laird Street Health Centre

Laird Street Health Centre is situated in Birkenhead, Wirral. The Merseyside centre is, unfortunately, a target for thieves, housing both drugs and medical equipment. The brief was simple; security must be tight, but as a medical centre for the community, it had to be a pleasant and welcoming building too.

The Integr8 brand of integrated lintel roller shutters, Integr8 Structural Built-In Shutters, were the obvious choice here, allowing for maximum protection whilst not compromising on the aesthetic feel of the building.

Involved from the design stage, Charter Global supplied 35 integrated lintel roller shutters and eight Obexion Security door sets, fitted to the ground floor and over the flat-roofed areas. The building has various facades – timber cladding, aluminium cladding and external brickwork. Charter Global was able to supply shutters to fit into each of these.

There was a five-metre metre opening for which a custom shutter was made. During the day when the centre is open, the shutters retract into the lintel and cannot be seen. At night, the shutters are closed by the touch of a button. A spokesman for the Main Contractor appreciated the help from Charter Global.

“They gave us good technical support. The installation went smoothly and I would recommend Charter Global to anyone looking for stylish, strong security shutters.”

Commercial New Build Office Security

Security is important to all commercial properties and this attractive new build office building was no exception. Security was required for all the ground floor openings to deter and prevent unwanted intruder access, and the savings on insurance premium that would result was very welcome.

A main feature of the building was the brickwork up to the first-floor level; from where full height glazing then continued to the roof and the angled brick sills to all the windows. It was important that any security measures didn’t detract from this simple and effective architectural feature.

Integr8 Structural Built-In Shutters were selected as the system did not affect the building design and is concealed from view when in the raised position. This created a welcoming building for employees than a visible bolt on shutter system.

The Integr8 lintel roller shutter system is also available as standard in any RAL colour – this feature was used to great effect and the shutters are coloured to match the corporate colour. As this colour had also been used for the windows this further allowed the shutters to blend seamlessly into the design.
