STRENGTH IN CONTINUED SECURITY

The TotalCare service from Charter Global offers complete aftersales support for your security shutters.  Encompassing planned servicing, reactive care, and emergency repairs, TotalCare covers the complete package.

Servicing and maintenance of security measures are vital to ensuring maximum performance and a longer lifetime for physical security products. Regardless of the type of shutter, or who manufactured it, regular and continued use of physical security products will cause wear and tear on the machinery, so regular checks will ensure continued protection.

After all, once the investment has been made to ensure the protection of your property and people, why wouldn’t you want to continue to ensure that security is working to its optimum level?

How does legislation apply?

Health and Safety Law, states that there is a legal obligation to service all shutters that are located on commercial and public buildings, at least once per year to ensure they are safe to use and do not pose a hazard.

Having your roller shutter serviced is a legal responsibility for businesses and public facilities where employers must take all reasonable actions to safeguard employee’s welfare and the public safety.

Naturally, Charter Global offers a manufacturer’s warranty of 12 months, but this is dependent upon regular maintenance at recommended intervals.

FAST, EFFECTIVE RESPONSE WHEN YOU NEED IT

Similar to security measures like cameras and alarms, security shutters act as an effective deterrent. Roller shutters make it obvious that the property is reinforced and will take longer to gain access, and while this discourages potential intruders from considering a break-in, attempted attacks and accidental damage can still occur at times.

This is where having a service and repair package in place from TotalCare can give complete reassurance that shutters are repaired quickly and all mechanical and safety elements are checked on a regular basis by our team of trained engineers.

Over 80% of reactive callouts are to sites without proactive maintenance contracts.

Charter Global’s in-house aftersales support, TotalCare, offers preventative maintenance plans suitable for every project.

During a service visit an engineer will check the safety features on the shutter and check that there is no damage to the motors, mechanisms or shutter curtain.  The engineer will clean, lubricate and adjust all components for optimum performance. All work is recorded on handheld devices which are linked to the office and a copy of the report will be sent to you. Engineers also use their handheld devices to report any additional works or repairs which need to be carried out.

All TotalCare Service Engineers have over 10 years’ experience with the company and their expertise ensures they can deal with any type of problem that may occur, quickly and effectively.

If the shutters are installed in a place of work or in a public environment, it is a legal Health and Safety requirement to ensure that they are serviced and maintained and continue to meet the relevant standards. Employers must take all reasonable actions to safeguard employee’s welfare and public safety.

Regular servicing is completed through a TotalCare Service contract; the cost of this will depend on the level of cover required. TotalCare have options to suit all budgets and site situations, see our website page for more details. https://www.charter-global.com/total-care-servicing/.

Contracted service call outs do take priority over non-contract call outs and there is the benefit of discounted spare parts, should they be required.

You may want to consider the insurance risk and/or commercial impact to your property or business if the shutter has become stuck in a permanent open or closed position and an engineer cannot get to you straight away.
